procurement systems
The current commercial package is positioned around cXML PunchOut on PrestaShop 8 and 9 with full confidence. PrestaShop 1.7.8.8, 8.x and 9.x are supported in the current PrestaShop line. OCI and other workflows are offered as add-ons or custom project scope, matched to each project's actual requirements.
PunchOutHub is offered with confidence on the latest PrestaShop generations. PrestaShop 1.7.8.8 is also supported, available on request for stores that cannot upgrade yet.
PrestaShop 9
The primary, fully supported platform for PunchOutHub. Built natively against Symfony 6 internals and the PS9 module architecture.
Status
- ✓ Compatible with PS9 / Symfony 6 architecture
- ✓ PHP 8.1+ compatible
- ✓ Full 4-step PunchOut flow (Setup → Catalog → Cart → Return)
- ✓ Production-tested with real buyers
- ✓ First-year support included
PrestaShop 8
Supported with high confidence. PunchOutHub is verified to install and operate on PrestaShop 8 with the same PunchOut flow and feature set as on PS9, within the bounds of the PS8 module API.
Status
- ✓ Verified compatible with PrestaShop 8
- ✓ PHP 7.4 / 8.x compatible
- ✓ Full 4-step PunchOut flow (Setup → Catalog → Cart → Return)
- ✓ Same module, same scope as PS 9
PrestaShop 1.7.8.8
Supports PrestaShop 1.7.8.8 installations for stores that cannot upgrade to PS 8 or PS 9. The same module and the same 4-step flow as PS 8 / 9 — offered on request rather than as the default download.
Status
- ✓ Supports PrestaShop 1.7.8.8 installations
- ✓ Full 4-step PunchOut flow (Setup → Catalog → Cart → Return)
- ✓ Same module, same scope as PS 8 / 9
- ◇ Delivered on request, not bundled in the default download
- ◇ Upgrade to PS 8 / PS 9 recommended for new projects
Recommendation:
Use PS 8 / PS 9 when possible; ask sales for PS 1.7.8.8 support only if you cannot upgrade.
The module includes an admin-side compatibility matrix so suppliers and support teams can validate platform status before deployment or buyer onboarding.
before activation
PunchOutHub ships with a built-in compatibility checker that runs when you open the module configuration screen. It detects your PrestaShop version, PHP version, SSL state, and license, and tells you whether your environment is Fully Supported, Supported, or Supported on Request.
.zip installs on PrestaShop 1.7.8.8, 8.x, and 9.x. The 4-step flow — PunchOutSetupRequest → Catalog browse → Add to cart → PunchOutOrderMessage return — is identical across versions and runs 100% locally on your PrestaShop server. The version check simply labels what tier of confidence applies to your environment.
Every step runs 100% locally on your PrestaShop server — no external API calls, no third-party gateways. Identical on PrestaShop 9 / 8 / 1.7.8.8.
Auto-detect PrestaShop version
On install and on every entry to the configuration screen, the module reads _PS_VERSION_ and matches it against the supported range (1.7.8.8 / 8.x / 9.x).
Three clearly labeled tiers
PS 9.x shows Fully Supported. PS 8.x shows Supported. PS 1.7.8.8 shows Supported · On Request. Same module, transparent labeling — admins see exactly which tier their environment is in.
Blocks unsupported versions safely
If the version falls outside the tested range (e.g. PS 1.7.6.x or an unreleased pre-release), the module refuses to activate the cXML endpoints and asks the admin to contact support — instead of failing silently in production.
Full environment preflight
Beyond PrestaShop itself, the same panel verifies PHP version, HTTPS / SSL, license key validity, and cXML endpoint reachability — so buyer onboarding never starts with a misconfigured server.
